Visible Thinking
Equipping Our Teachers for Deeper Learning
We’re thrilled to celebrate our dedicated faculty who recently completed Project Zero’s Visible Thinking course, developed by Harvard researchers. This innovative program equips educators with a powerful framework to foster critical thinking and communication skills in their students.
What Did Our Teachers Learn?
Project Zero’s Visible Thinking goes beyond rote memorization. Through a series of “Thinking Routines” and classroom discussions, teachers learned how to:
- Make students’ thinking processes visible: By encouraging students to articulate their thought processes, teachers can gain a deeper understanding of how their students learn.
- Develop critical thinking skills: The course equips teachers with strategies to guide students in analyzing information, asking questions, and forming well-supported arguments.
- Enhance communication skills: Visible Thinking routines encourage students to express their ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with their peers.
- Foster a love of learning: By making learning an active and engaging process, Visible Thinking fosters a lifelong love of learning in students.
Transforming Our Classrooms
Our teachers are eager to implement these powerful strategies in their classrooms. Here’s a glimpse of how Visible Thinking will transform the learning experience for our students:
- Dynamic Discussions: Classrooms will become spaces where students actively participate in discussions, ask questions, and build upon each other’s ideas.
- Personalized Learning: Visible Thinking routines allow teachers to assess student understanding in real-time and tailor lessons to individual needs.
- Empowered Learners: Students will become more confident in their critical thinking abilities and become self-directed learners.
- Collaborative Learning: By working together through Visible Thinking routines, students will develop strong collaboration skills.
A Commitment to Continuous Learning
We are dedicated to providing our teachers with the best tools and resources to ensure our students thrive. Project Zero’s Visible Thinking is a valuable addition to our educational toolkit, and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on our learning community.
